Glenn Bindley, President & CEO

Glenn is an Electrical Engineer and MBA who brings 25 years of design, product marketing, business development and executive management experience in the telecom and semiconductor industries. He was a founder of PMC-Sierra, Inc. and grew a highly profitable division with sales exceeding $200M per year. Glenn has extensive experience in product marketing, building strategic business relationships, and successfully managing high growth businesses.

Jim Balcom, Chief Operating Officer

Jim is a seasoned technology executive with 25 years’ experience in the successful development and launch of disruptive products and technologies at Ballard Power Systems and PolyFuel in advanced fuel cell products, at Sonigistix in consumer electronics and at Ondine Biomedical in medical devices. He has led manufacturing, engineering and executive management teams in Silicon Valley, Seattle and Vancouver. Jim has a Systems Design Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Harvard University.

Eric Erikson, Chief Financial Officer

Eric is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in CFO and senior management roles. Eric was most recently the CEO of successful venture backed metals recycling company Steel Pacific, which was acquired in 2010. Eric has an extensive background in finance, strategic planning and operations in volume manufacturing & production organizations.

Ralph Turfus – Chair

Ralph is an accomplished technology entrepreneur who has spent three decades in the IT sector. Most recently, he was founder and CEO of Class Software, a leading developer of software for municipal government programs. In 2004, Class was acquired by California-based Active Network in a private equity-financed transaction. An engineer/MBA, Ralph’s passion is developing the marketing and sales capabilities of entrepreneurial technologists. He is a highly-regarded speaker on the topic and is a hands-on angel investor and mentor who is active with the founders of numerous next-generation technology companies emerging on Canada’s west coast. In recognition of his business success and industry contributions, he was named the B.C. Technology Industry Association’s “Person of the Year” in 2006.

Bob Armstrong, Director

Bob most recently led all Research & Development programs at Smiths Medical where he focussed on innovation and accelerating commercialization of differentiated products and platforms. He joined the organization in 2014.
Prior to Smiths Medical, Bob served as Vice President, Innovation Excellence Transformation at Philips Healthcare, a $12.4 billion division of the Dutch conglomerate. In that role, he had responsibility for creating and implementing the product development process and competency improvements for all product development in Philips Healthcare globally. Prior to Philips, he served as Vice President of R&D for all Medical Devices and Adjacent Disposables for Baxter Healthcare.
Bob began his career as an engineer in GE Healthcare and assumed roles of increasing responsibility over 21 years, last serving as General Manager of Global Computed Tomography and Functional Imaging Engineering.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from St. Norbert College and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, as well as a number of patents

Chris Erickson, Director

Chris Erickson is the founder of Pangaea and has been working with cleantech and advanced material companies since 1997. Chris brings considerable cleantech and transaction experience advising public and private companies on environmental issues, investment structures, financings, strategic alliances, mergers, divestitures, corporate governance and other business transactions. Prior to starting Pangaea, Chris was a partner with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, one of Canada’s pre- eminent business law firms, specializing in environmental and corporate law. Chris holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.

Colin C. Harris, Director

Colin is Chief Operating Office of PMC-Sierra Inc. Colin is a founder of PMC-Sierra, has served as Vice President, Chief Operating Officer since February 2007. Prior to this appointment, he served as Vice President of Worldwide Operations at PMC-Sierra from July 2004 and Vice President of IC Technology from May 1997 to July 2004. In 1992, he became PMC’s Director of Operations and subsequently Director of Quality Assurance.

Jeromy Xue, Director

Mr. Jeromy Xue is a founding partner of THG Ventures. Jeromy joined TusPark in 2002 and since 2006 has served as the founding partner and managing director of TusPark Ventures, specializing in early stage technology companies. TusPark invests primarily in technology, media, telecom, biomedicine, and clean technologies sectors. Jeromy was previously with the State Information Center and with IBM before joining TusPark. He also founded Aetna (US) in 1994 and Bosicong Information Technology Co., Ltd. in 2000.
Jeromy served as the secretary-general of the Tsinghua Entrepreneur and Executive Club (TEEC) for six years and served as the executive director of the Asia America Multi-technology Association (AAMA), promoting the implementation of the “Cradle Plan”. He also served as a member of the Venture Capital Working Group under the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Jeromy holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Master’s degree in management engineering from the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, and a Master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from San Jose State University, California.
